Starting from July 27, 2018, responding to Nguyen Anh Duong’s call, the group gathered and established a Slack channel to begin the book translation process.
On December 18, 2018, the first Vietnamese translation excerpt of the Deep Learning book was published and received positive feedback from the community.
Throughout 2019, alongside negotiations with domestic publishers, the group conducted 2 rounds of content revisions.
During 2019-2021, the group signed a contract with World Publishing House - DLBOOKVN’s representative for negotiating and purchasing the Deep Learning book rights, allowing the group to translate and publish 1000 copies of the Deep Learning book. MIT Press.
From June 2020 to September 2021, the complex Covid situation significantly affected the group’s activities. However, core members persisted in conducting the third round of translation quality improvements.
From November 2021, the group began the fourth and final comprehensive revision, sending the manuscript to experts for review and validation, while collaborating with the publisher on printing, distribution, and publication format adjustments.
March 2022, successfully published 1000 copies.
March 2022, the group began contacting the Books for Rural Areas program.
April 13, 2022, Science & Development Newspaper - the media agency of the Ministry of Science & Technology published an article about our project
April 19, 2022 First disbursement of 23,900,000 VND to the Books for Rural Areas program. This event was mentioned in VTV1 news broadcast
April 28, 2022, MILA Institute posted about the project on their fanpage, and Yoshua (one of the three authors of the book) shared this post on his personal page
May 24, 2022 Second disbursement of 20,700,000 VND to the Books for Rural Areas program, funding 20 bookcases.
